Holyhead, Anglesey – The Island of Choice Gateway to North Wales and Snowdonia.

Anglesey is the largest island off mainland Britain and has many hidden treasures. We have our fascinating history and culture which can be dated back to 8000 BC as well as a vibrant modern-day culture.

As the diamond of Wales, we have many facets to our island and we welcome our cruise passengers to come and explore.

Visit the 18th century manor house called Plas Newydd which nestles beside the beautiful Menai Strait and is the traditional home of the Marquess of Anglesey.

There are also remains of religious sites dotted all around the island, from ancient churches and burial grounds to hermits’ huts.

Anglesey boasts one of the longest place names in the world - the village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch offers a great day out and a true taste of Wales.

A few miles away, the patron saint of Welsh lovers, Dwynwen, is buried at Ynys Llanddwyn - a beautiful arm of land on Anglesey’s south coast.

There are opportunities a plenty for the active passengers such as walking, cycling or try a round of golf.

There can be few places to match the combination of natural beauty, warm hospitality and the wide range of golfing facilities (all at excellent value for money) that the island has to offer.

 

Also visit some of the most breathtaking views in Britain by following the 125 mile Anglesey Coastal path.

Cross over the Menai Strait onto the mainland to visit the castles of Caernarfon, Conwy and Bodelwyddan. You can also visit the world-famous Bodnant Garden, or take a trip on the Welsh Highland Railway.
