Anglesey Walking Festival: Walk 17 - Talwrn / Cors Bodeilio

The walk will start from the Community Hall Car Park at Talwrn, following paths recently opened and improved by Ynys Môn Ramblers Volunteers working with the Isle of Anglesey County Council to the boundary of Cors Bodeilio where they have opened the footpath to the reserve boardwalk. The walk will take us along the boardwalk around the wetland to the reserve car park and to a lane and footpaths opened and improved by the Volunteers. We return along country lanes to the start point. If you like nature, you will enjoy this walk.

Big Wheel at Beaumaris

Beaumaris is gearing itself up to offer Anglesonians and visitors to the
Island a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the world from a different
perspective with the “Beaumaris Eye” which comes to town from Saturday 26
May to Saturday 9 June.
The Giant Wheel, which at 35 metres high and with 24 gondolas each taking
six passengers, will open up everyone’s eyes with views across the Island,
down the Menai Strait, over to Caernarfon and Llandudno as well as the
Snowdonia Mountain Range.

Anglesey Walking Festival: Walk 2 - Bird Watching and Historical Tour of the Valley Lakes

A bird watching and historical walk around Llyn Cerrig Bach where Iron Age artefacts including a slave chain, tools, and chariot parts were found by local M.O.D. groundsman W O Roberts in 1943. His daughter, a local historian will provide an interesting talk about the artefacts by the Lake at the beginning of this walk. This area is also one of the most important reserves and historical sites on Anglesey and your guide an RSPB warden will explain how the lakes are cultivated and managed for the protection of migratory wildfowl and other wildlife living on this reserve.

Come and see what lurks beneath the waves and gets left behind when the tide goes out. Countryside Council for Wales Marine staff will help you discover that there is a lot more to the beach than sand and surfing. Very young children may not be able to reach the furthest rock pools but are welcome to join in as far as they are able. Be prepared to get wet – especially your feet and shoes. Cemlyn is home to one of the most important seabird colonies in Wales and a fantastic place to see lots of wildlife.
