Safety on the coastal path: weather conditions

Located in the west of Britain, Anglesey experiences a wet and mild climate. Weather fronts typically come in off the Irish Sea from the south west, hitting Holyhead first, and moving eastwards.

As the whole path involves low level walking it is possible to complete the entire route in bad weather, although this may not be the most enjoyable way! As with walking anywhere in the British Isles good waterproofs should always be taken with you. In terms of the best weather, May and June have the highest sunshine figures (average for May is 225 hours, June 210 hours) and lowest rainfall figures (average for May is 50mm, June is 51mm) through the year. You also have the accompaniment of a spectacular array of spring flowers.
